Automation settings

This page is for administrators: the operations described require access to the administration area.

To edit an automation, go to Admin → Automations and open it using the Edit icon. The page has four tabs: Details, Triggers, Blocks and Summary. The model is described in Automations: triggers, blocks, conditions and actions.

Limits

Item Limit
Blocks per automation 5
Actions per block 2
Triggers per automation 1
Entity type Product entity types only

Details

Setting Effect
Name The automation's name. Required
Enabled The automation is active. Enabled by default for new automations
Stop after first match Only the first block whose conditions are true runs
Channels Channel configurations, each with a Channel, Country and Locale. The automation runs once for each configuration
Execution log Enable verbose for 7 days also logs runs that perform no actions

Triggers

Type Settings When it runs
On attribute change Watch attributes: the attributes to monitor. Tech specs cannot be monitored When a product is saved, if a monitored attribute's value changes
Time The schedule and the required prefilters, configured using SET PREFILTERS At the scheduled times, for products that match the prefilters

Variables

A variable has a name starting with $, for example $PromoScaduta. Variables are calculated in order, so a variable can use those defined before it. Under Mode, Boolean (conditions) produces a true or false value for use in conditions, while Value (template) produces a value for use in event text.

Operation Result
eq, ne Equal to, not equal to
gt, ge, lt, le Greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to
contains The first operand contains the second
and, or, not Combination of conditions
exists The value is present
days_since Whole days elapsed since the specified date
Operand Value
attr The current value of an attribute
prev_attr The attribute's value before saving. Available only for attributes monitored with On attribute change
var The value of a previously defined variable
const A fixed value: true or false, a number or text

You can only use comparable attributes in the attr and prev_attr operands, such as text, numbers, country-specific dates, values selected from a list, categories and stock levels.

Conditions

Condition Effect
Transient var conditions A Boolean variable must have the value true or false
Attribute conditions Conditions on attributes, as in product search filters. They use the language of the channel configuration

All conditions in a block must be true. To combine alternative conditions, use a variable with or.

Actions

Attribute actions set a fixed value, as in bulk edit. You can set attributes of the following types: TextGlobalValue, TextLocaleValue, DateValue, DateCountryValue, SelectableOptionsGlobalValue, SelectableOptionsLocaleValue, CategoryLinkValue, SingleCategoryLinkValue.

Actions under Event actions record an event for the product and channel, but only if the automation has a channel configuration. In the text under Event detail (template), you can use $SKU, $ChannelKey, $Country, $Locale, $NowUtc and the block's variables.
