Category fields
This page is intended for administrators: the operations described require access to the administration area.
You can edit category fields in Admin → Categories, in the Edit category panel. All fields except Is public are filled in for each language, selected in Locale.

No fields are required. Metadata, links, Thesaurus and Is public provide information for channels, such as category pages on a website: how they are used depends on the channel integration.
In the Excel export, each field has a column for each language, with the language code after the dot, for example Name.it-IT. Importing is described in How to import and export categories in Excel.
