How to delete an attribute

This page is for administrators: the steps described require access to the administration area.

Delete an attribute you no longer need. You need access to Attributes in the administration area and the Can edit all fields permission.

openlane does not check whether the attribute is used by products, channels, integrations or rules: it deletes it regardless, and deletion cannot be undone. Before proceeding, check that no channels or integrations need the attribute. If you only want to stop users from seeing it, hide it using Hidden User Groups or make it Read only.

  1. In the menu, select Admin, then Attributes, and choose the entity type in Entity.
  2. In the attribute's row, click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

The message Attribute deleted appears, and the attribute is no longer shown on records of that entity type.
