How to grant access to the administration area

This page is for administrators: the steps described require access to the administration area.

Choose which parts of the administration area a user can access. You need access to the Users administration area.

  1. In the menu, select Admin, then Users, and open the user using the Edit icon.
  2. In the Permissions section, under Admin Areas, select the areas.
  3. Click Save.

The user sees the new menu items after reloading the page. If at least one area is assigned, the administration area icon appears in the top bar; the Administration page shows only the items for their assigned areas.

Anyone with access to the Users area can change permissions for all users, including themselves, and can therefore grant themselves access to any other area. Assign it only to those responsible for managing access.

Data flow

The Data flow menu item is not an area: it appears with the Data Flow admin or Data flow Viewer permissions, in the user's DataFlow section. With Data flow Viewer, the user can view the list of data flows and their logs; with Data Flow admin, they can create, edit and run data flows, and manage their schedules.

Some administration functions also require a user permission:

  • to edit, delete and validate attributes in the Attributes list, the user needs Can edit all fields; without it, they only see attributes that their groups can configure;
  • to manage reference entity types, the user needs Can manage reference entity types.
