How to view automation history

This page is for administrators: the steps described require access to the administration area.

Check when an automation ran, which products it ran on and the outcome. You need access to Automations in the administration area.

Open the history

  1. In the menu, select Admin, then Automations.
  2. Click History to view the history of all automations, or the History icon in an automation's row to view its history.
  3. If needed, filter by SKU / Entity Key and by date range using From and To: by default, the history shows the last 7 days. Side effects only shows only runs that made changes.
  4. Click Search.

Each row represents a run on a product, with the date, SKU, trigger, channel and outcome:

Outcome Meaning
Side Effects A block ran and performed its actions
Match (no actions) A block's conditions were met, but the block had no actions to perform
No Match No block's conditions were met

Click a row to open Execution Detail, which shows the context, the number of actions applied, the monitored attributes that changed and the blocks whose conditions were met.

What is logged

By default, the history logs only runs that apply actions. To track runs with no effects as well, for example while fine-tuning conditions, enable verbose logging:

  1. Open the automation using the Edit icon.
  2. Under Details, in Execution log, click Enable verbose for 7 days.
  3. Click Save.

For 7 days, runs with the On attribute change trigger are also logged when a monitored attribute changes but no block runs. Verbose only in the history shows only these entries. To stop verbose logging early, click Disable and save.
