How to ensure a channel receives only public media

This page is for administrators: the steps described require access to the administration area.

Set a rule so that a product with private media in a media attribute is marked as not ready for a channel, rather than being sent with an image that cannot be viewed.

Validation Rules is only available for attributes that support validation, and only to users who can edit all attributes.

  1. From the menu, select Admin, then Attributes.
  2. In the media attribute's row, click the Validation Rules icon.
  3. In the section for the channel type, select Every media must be in a public workspace (otherwise the channel receives a broken link).
  4. To apply a different rule to an individual channel, click Exceptions and set the rule in the Manage exceptions window.
  5. Click Save.
