How to start, suspend and resume a data flow
This page is for administrators: the operations described require access to the administration area.
Run a data flow immediately, suspend or resume its schedule, and delete data flows you no longer need. You need the Data Flow admin user permission. These actions are available in the data flow's row in the Admin → Data flow list.
Run Now and Resume Schedule only work for data flows that have a schedule. Without a schedule, nothing happens, even if a confirmation message appears. Set up the schedule as described in How to create and schedule a data flow.
Run a data flow immediately
- In the data flow's row, click the Run Now icon. This icon is not displayed if the data flow is suspended.
- Confirm.
The message DataFlow execution triggered appears. The data flow runs in the background: check its result as described in How to check the result of a data flow. If the same data flow is already running, the new run waits for it to finish.
Suspend the schedule
In the data flow's row, click the Suspend Schedule icon. The message Schedule paused appears, along with the Schedule label in the Suspended column.
The data flow can no longer run, either on schedule or via Run Now. You can also suspend it by selecting Is Suspended on the edit page and saving.
Resume the schedule
In the data flow's row, click the Resume Schedule icon. The message Schedule resumed appears, and the data flow resumes running at its scheduled times.
Delete a data flow
- In the data flow's row, click the Delete icon.
- Confirm.
The message Data flow deleted appears. The schedule is deleted. Execution logs remain available until they expire, and any feed already published by a GenericExportConnector remains available to download at its existing address.
